Here in the Upstate there are a host of businesses, both small and large, that support cyclists and the things we love. This is a short (& growing) list of some prominent pro-bike locals and institutions:
Greenville B-Cycle – Bike Share
Greenville B-Cycle is the county’s first bike share system, and was launched in 2013 by a partnership between Upstate Forever and the Greenville Health System. The system’s six stations throughout downtown Greenville provide the community with 28 commuter-ready bicycles for short-haul and one-way trips; future expansion to ten stations and 50 bikes is in the works. Grants, private donations, and sponsorships keep memberships and rental fees low; 24-hour memberships are as low as $5, while a $60 annual membership offers unlimited short-haul rides all year long. Explore the fee structure at their website, suss out the bikes at a kiosk downtown, & get out there and B-Cycle!
Robert Trontz – Integrated Marketing & Design Creative
An avid cyclist, Rob is the terrific graphic designer who developed the logo for UpstateCycleLink.com. Based near the fantastic mountain biking of DuPont State Forest, Rob has raced in New England mountain bike circuits and remains a passionate devotee of the 26-inch wheeled mountain bike. His studio creates clean, simple logos or fully integrated marketing packages — and I can say from experience that he is a pleasure to work with throughout the creative process!
